I'm going form memory now but didn't 7.3 run rpm-3.* ?

I recall doing an upgrade from 3 to 4 on one of my redhat boxes waaay
back when and actually got caught in the middle of "no-mans-land" with
neither a functioning ver-3 or ver-4, not sure now if it was 7.3 (an all
time favorite of mine along with 6.2) or not.

Kinda had that "Duh" feeling you get when not paying attention and cut
yourself off of a remote ssh connection by fiddling with the remote
network settings...
