Thanks.  I thought of a possible cause.
The new computer primary drive is SATA.
(Didn't want to give people too many clues up front)

I assumed that if Knoppix can see it, it is supported,
but I wonder nonetheless, as I recall this issue....

BTW, I notice it doesn't like the sound or the net card.

Something to drive myself nuts about tomorrow.
