Hi,
as someone who follows Debian development, first they have a strict
adhearance to the FHS. Any variation is a release critical bug.
Violators will be shot ;-) I'd hazard a guess that these developers
would never, ever join the ranks of a Debian developers (or any sane
distros). They'd be laughed out the door. Its not like anyone forbids
some commercial programmer from joining on irc and asking a question or
for that matter using google.  These guys seem to think teh intraweb has
stopped-up tubes.
