I'm sure there are other similar programs, but this is the one I love 
right now:

Same old story - girl takes pictures, girl copies pictures to hard 
drive, girl erases (four gig) camera card, hard drive dies.  BIOS 
doesn't recognize the drive, so it's beyond my meagre skills, but the 
card still had the ones I was crying over.  God bless FAT!  God bless 
Magic Rescue!  And god damn backup strategies that involve the 
word "later."  :-D
