There are/will be third party apps which are certified to
run under RHEL 4.

I don't know if Red Hat supports syslog-ng. I think I just
looked briefly for an rpm and didn't find it.

Perhaps another way out would be that if syslog-ng is
ceritfied/supported by Red Hat, we could then ask the the
3rd party vendor to also guarantee the setup.

I will look into this.
