Meeting topic vote (NOW!):
--------------------------
Please take our less than one day poll over at http://nylug.org/poll
You may vote for more than one topic by taking the poll more than once.
Please don't ballot-stuff.
The top two choices will be presented at our April 30th meeting.
In no particular order, the choices are:
* Nagios, an Open Source host, service and network monitoring program.
* An extemporaneous speech on the wonders of setting up a work station
using a specific but not named distribution, the purpose of which would
eventually be to teach a group how to use the operating system.
* Cobbler, a Linux boot server that allows for rapid setup of network
installation environments. With a simple series of commands, network
installs can be configured for PXE, reinstallations, and virtualized
installs using Xen or KVM.
* Linux clusters. Discuss the various open-source packages for building
Linux clusters. Focus on the Rocks package (basic install, running jobs,
etc). Wrap up with Rocks 5.0 (Beta) using Xen (tie in to virtulization).
* Real Time Linux: a review of the most significant latency problems
discovered and solved by the kernel developers with the input of the
Linux audio community between the beginning of this informal
collaboration in July 2004 around kernel 2.6.7 through the most
recent development release.
Vote for all the ones you'd like to hear at: http://nylug.org/poll.
Again, this is a very short poll, and will only be open less than
one day.
