Agenda:

We'll be presenting a panel on November 8 on "The Future of WHOIS
Policy" which will feature members of the ICANN board

The global Internet Society (of which we are a chapter) wishes to
discuss and adopt the next large and galvanizing
strategic initiative to be pursued to make a major, lasting, and
important contribution to the evolution of the Internet for the benefit
of all people everywhere. They will discuss a short-list of suggestions
at the their Board meeting in November of this year. Let's put together
some proposals for them at our meeting!

ISubuntu is complete computer software environment including both
operating system and desktop applications, based on Ubuntu Linux,
allowing for safe, secure access to the Internet without fear of
viruses, worms, trojans, phishing attacks, annoying popups or other
malware. We need beta-testers, programmers, graphic designers and
technical writers to help with this project.

* When: October 19, 2006
  (3rd Thursday of the month)
   7-9 pm

* Where: New York University
          5th floor conference room
          Pless Hall
          82 Washington Square East

All meetings are free and open to the public

Pless Hall is across from Washington Square Park,
at corner of Washington Square East and
Washington Place (between Waverly and West 4th).
Entrance is on Washington Place.
