There is a stream of abundance. We can either resist it or allow it and go with the flow. When we resist, we feel miserable. When we allow it in, we feel good. It's true that we can not help how we feel, because emotions are just the after-effects, the results of our choices. Our emotions tell us if we are resisting (feeling bad) or allowing (feeling good) the stream of abundance. Our purpose is to create. A lot of people choose to sit back, let the world happen and in effect not create. We get what we put our attention on. If you put your attention on stuff that you appreciate, you create more of that. If you worry and are afraid, you get more of that. If you say out of a feeling of desperation "please don't let that pothole break my car!" You bring it on. If you say out of a feeling of appreciation, "Wow, this highway is smooth and brightly lit. I like it!" You will have a nice ride. ** Don't waste time criticizing these ideas, test them yourself. Do the thought experiment and see if it's true. How hard would that be? What do you have to lose? ** Fear, desperation, doubt, anger, judging, blaming, and justifying all resist the flow. Appreciation, humility, peace, trust, confidence, quietude, and love allow abundance to come in. Somewhere deep inside, we all know that we get to choose. When a choice is made, it happens in the present moment. A lot of the time, we dwell on the past or worry about the future. But we have no impact on the future because it does not yet exist and we have no impact on the past because it has already happened. The only time that mattters is right now. Right now is the only vehicle for a choice. Since we create what we focus out thoughts on, we truly are the reason for everything that happens to us. When we finally wake up to this fact and stop blaming others for bad stuff, life gets much easier. You are not a victim! You are alive and therefore making choices whether you like it or not. When you sit back and allow others to do the creating for you, how can you expect to be happy? It is very liberating when we finally accept that we get to create and choose our reality. Without realizing it, we create our own unhappiness because we've been trained our whole lives to think that some things are outside of ourselves. We are told all the time that certain things are impossible, that there just are situations that we have no control over. This belief allows us to justify anything and everything. We can comfortably play the victim because we have no control over certain things. But isn't it true that science does not even fully understand how the brain works? Furthermore, scientists claim that 90% of the universe is composed of something called 'dark matter'... precisely because no one knows what it is. Instead of electrons orbiting the nucleus of an atom, quantum physics explains that there is just a probability that an electron particle exists at all. Yet when we hear the phrase "All is One," we think, "Oh that idea is a nice-to-have, but that's not real because there's no proof." Consider this - All is One, when you choose it. Choice is creation. Our purpose is to create. A lot of people think that creating is a lot of hard work and therefore, I assure you, it is hard work. But creating does not have to be any harder than seeing a glass as half full instead of half empty. Seeing a glass of water as half full is a very powerful choice to make. Appreciate that there is water in your glass at all! Don't forget how important and beautiful water really is. It's been said that every cloud has a silver lining. Try more to see the silver lining in all things and only dwell on that. Even better, transmute that rain cloud into something you'd prefer. Here's how - Not all roads are smooth and brightly lit. You will eventually drive down a dark and bumpy road. At the moment your senses detect the vibration and the low light, BUT BEFORE your ego processes that information into fear, choose instead that the road be bright and nicely paved. Abandon every trace of fear, and with great clarity, use your mind to think specific positive thoughts about what you want at that moment. Say to yourself, "Wouldn't it be cool to drive on an newly paved highway with tremondously bright halogen lamp posts?" Then send the thought (a.k.a. your new choice) out into the universe and then FORGET about it. Do not give your choice a deadline. Timelines are based in the non-now and have a canceling out effect. So don't keep score. Do NOT keep score. Instead, have fun with this little process. Play it like a game. Try it out first on little inconsequential things, so you can refine your technique. See if it works. You will be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes we don't know what want. When that happens, take a breathe and notice how you feel. Do you feel good? Or do you feel bad? What would make you feel better? Choose what feels better. This is how we train ourselves to allow in the stream of abundance. Tip - this process takes practice and meditation accelerates it. By the way, this is only the beginning, but it is a great place to start. Homework - Look around and observe what you are creating. Pay attention to your feelings when you observe. Use the same process above and manifest what you want with specific positive language using your imagination. Use detail, but do not require your creations to manifest with every single detail you describe. In other words, be flexible. Go with the flow. Trust the process. Appreciate everything that results ESPECIALLY if it's not pleasant. At the moment your senses detect something unpleasant, immediately choose the thought that feels better instead. Be quick about it! Then forget about it. This is called "finding a better feeling thought." Then go on with your life and always put your attention on the things you appreciate. In general, avoid negative thoughts. Negative thinking cancels out abundance. Negative thoughts are useful only for as long as it takes for you to choose what you would prefer. If for some reason you can't find a better feeling thought; let's say you can't think of anything you appreciate because you've just stubbed your toe... either find the humor in that or temporarily distract yourself with a fond memory or fantasy. The idea is to: 1) Get better at staying in the present and not the past or future, a.k.a. being mindful, being in the moment. 2) Get better at noticing how you feel. 3) Shorten the amount of time you feel bad by quickly flipping the situation around and choosing a better thought that, if it were created, would improve your situation. 4) Have fun with this process. Do not keep score. 5) Look for and focus on what you truly appreciate as often as possible. 6) Medititate on breathing in and out while excluding thought. 7) Don't beat yourself up. Instead notice that your self-flagellation is making you feel bad and repeat the above process. Be happy. The choice is yours! Matthew 13:12 "For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him."
